Manchester United Biography

The Manchester United soccer club was first started as Newton Heath L&YR F.C in the year 1878. However later in the year 1902, the name was changed to Manchester United. After the initiation of the soccer team, they won the Division One title, which was then known as the FA cup. This is the records of the team in the year 1909. Later they again won another title in the year 1911. In the year 1945, Matt Busby became the manager of the Manchester United team. Under him, the team won championship leagues in the year 1952, 1956 and 1957. Later the club became the first club to play in the European cup and got the fame to reach up to the semi finals. However, they got out to the Real Madrid.
The team, Manchester United faced a fatal accident in the year 1958 when a plane crash killed 8 of its players. The plane was carrying the players’ home from a match in Europe. However luckily Busby survived and he later took to rebuilding the team and went on to win the FA cup in the year 1963. The team that was prepared by Busby later won league titles in the year 1965 and 1967. The club won the European cup in the year 1968 by winning over Benfica in the final. The Manchester United was first to win over the Benfica. Busby resigned from the managerial position of the team in the year 1969.
The managers who succeeded Busby, failed to uplift the team to the standard potential of the team and thus the success rate of the team suffered a great lot at that time. The United were relegated for the next five years. However, the team succeeded to gain their position back and won the FA cup in the year 1977, 1983 and 1985. However, the platform and the fame that we entitle Manchester United today were only possible because of their win over the Crystal Palace. That win actually acted as their springboard to success. At the time, the team was going through a bad patch of its career the overall pressure was over Alex Ferguson and there was a situation when he was near losing his job. However, with the series of win the team gained confidence and won the European Cup Winner’s Cup. After the session, their dominance over the Premiere League title followed with the first win in the year 1993.
They are considered as the dominating team at the Premiere League. However, Chelsea broke their record by winning consecutively in the year 2005 and 2006. Nevertheless, the Red Devils fought back at the Barclays Premiership the last season.
