Nemanja Vidic is a professional footballer from Serbia. He was born on October 21, 1981. He is a professional footballer who plays in teams as- the English club, Manchester United; the Premiere League and the Serbian national Football team.
Before joining Manchester United as a professional footballer on January 5, 2006, he played one season at Spartak Moscow. He joined the club as a substitute for Ruud van Nistelrooy. He scored his first goal for Manchester United on October 14, 2006. The game was against Wigan Athletic. He scored his first Champions League goal for the team against S.L. Benfica on 6 December. He is famous for his aggressive style. He has a no-nonsense charm and a defensive attitude. In fact, he is considered as one of the elite class defenders in the Premiere League. He is specialized in his active physical presence, heading ability in both attacking set pieces and defense and bravery. Vidic won the ‘Serbia’s Overseas Player of the Year’ award in the year 2005. he w2as also one of the players in the 2006-07 and 2007-08 PFA Premiership Team of the Season and personally he also got short listed for the UEFA European Club Defender Of the Year.
One significant fact about the player is that on 8 November 2007, he extended his contract with Manchester United until 2012. After 2006 World cup, Vida joined the national team, presently the Serbia national football team.
On July 17 in the year 2006, Vidic married his long term girlfriend Ana Ivanovich and together they have a son named Luka.
