Early Years
Anderson Luis de Abreu Oliveira, popularly known as Anderson is a Brazilian footballer. Currently, he is playing in the English football club Manchester United. He holds a regular position as a box to box midfielder. Anderson was born in Port Alegre in Brazil on 13th April in the year 1988. Anderson started off his career as a football player in club football in the year 2005. The first club that he joined was Gremio. In the second half of the year he played 5 Brazilian Serie B games. He also played in the 2005 Gaucho State Championship in the first half of the year. He became extremely popular when his spellbinding goal helped his club to be lifted back to Serie A. The next club in which Anderson played was Porto. When Anderson joined this club in December in the year 2005, he had had just five first team appearances at national level. He had his league debut on 5th March in the year 2006. He had played a great role in helping his club seal the Portuguese Championship in that very season. He also made his UEFA Champions League debut in Porto’s first group match against Moscow.
Manchester United
Anderson joined Manchester United on 30 May in the year of 2007. So far, he has appeared in 24 matches for Manchester United, having no goal in his record. He is good friends with almost all of his teammates, especially with the Portuguese speaking ones. Anderson was handed over the jersey carrying the number 8. This was the jersey number of Wayne Rooney. Anderson played his debut match for Manchester United on 3 August in the year 2007. In this match against Doncaster Rovers, he had played for 45 minutes. His competitive debut for the United Manchester football club was in 1 September in 2007 against Sunderland. It was in the Carling Cup match on 26 September in 2007 against Coventry City that he played the full 90 minutes.
International
Anderson made his international debut in April in 2005. He played for the Brazil national football team on 27th June 2007. Anderson has been recently called up for the Brazil squad of Dunga. It is for the first time since his appearance in the Copa America in February that he has been called up for the Brazil national team.
