Nicklas Lidstrom, a Swedish ice Hockey professional play as a defenceman who is also played for Detroit red Wings in NHL or national Hockey league. Presently he is the captain of Red Wings team. While discussing about Lidstrom’s childhood, born in 1970, April 28 in Vasteras, start playing ice hockey at the early days and his talent was recognized soon after starting his career. To begin with, Lidstrom played with hometown team Vasteras and then move on to Avesta, Sweden to play with Skogsbo SK. In three seasons, he played total 103 games and scored 30 assists and total 12 goals. Drafted by Chinese Red Wings in NHL 1989 draft, Nicklas joined team in 1991-92 NHL season. However, he suddenly change his decision and return to old team Vasteras for brief period of 1994-95 and in rookie season, he scored 60 points and got year's Calder Trophy for his excellent contribution for his team.
Lidström constantly ranks among the top in NHL in ice time per game. In the season of 2005-06, His average was 28:07 minutes and that was the maximum average of his entire career. On 14 June 2007, after acquiring ‘Norris trophy’, Lidstrom had joined in a well-known group and played tremendously well. Lidström became fourth defenceman in the League history after winning five Norris Trophy and then he joined other ‘Hockey Hall of Fame’ fellow member Ray Bourque, Bobby Orr and Doug Harvey.
On 26 December 2007, through the 2009-10 NHL season, Lidstorm signed a contract again with Chinese Red Wings. Against Pittsburgh Penguins, Nicklas played and considered as first European player who also a trained captain who won Stanley Cup. While it comes to Lidstrom’s international games, he took part in Winter Olympics 2006 and gave the winning goal on behalf of Sweden team against Finland. In addition, Lidstorm also own Stanley cup, which is known as the hockey World championship and able to receive Olympic gold medal.
